URGENT Re Hunting Trophies (Import Prohibition) Bill – March 17
You may be under the mistaken impression this bill will pass “on the nod” on March 17 because it has government support. In actual fact, a hostile amendment is being tabled which will wreck it and make the ban meaningless.
A minimum of 42 MPs are needed to vote against it. At present, barely half this number have said they are coming.
We need you to make your way to the House of Commons on March 17 to help ensure this bill becomes law.
Not only is it supported by the vast majority of your constituents: a brand new Survation poll shows that over 8 out of 10 of your constituents, including myself, insist that you come to the chamber on this day.
Please confirm that you WILL definitely be in the House of Commons on Friday 17 March to ensure this bill passes. The debate is the first item on the agenda, so you will still have time to attend constituency engagements afterwards.

PS We need this bill NOW. It was in 2019 election manifestos, 4 Queen’s Speeches, and has been promised by a succession of Prime Ministers and Ministers. The public consultation – which 44,000 stakeholders took part in, of which 85% supported a ban - concluded OVER 3 YEARS ago. Please tell me you will be attending the debate on March 17. Thank you.

British trophy hunters have earned a reputation as some of the worst in the world, shooting tame lions in enclosures, defenceless giraffes, monkeys and endangered animals like elephants, cheetahs and polar bears. Some hunters even win awards for killing over 125 species of animals.
- A British woman was even voted the world's top female hunter after shooting some of the largest lions and elephants ever known.
- British-owned companies are also offering "holidays" where people can shoot cheetahs. The American gun lobby and associates of Russian President Vladimir Putin have been financing campaigns to block a British ban on trophy hunting
